WHO WE ARE & WHAT WE DO What is Paramedics Unlimited? Established 1974, Paramedics Unlimited, Inc. is a team of Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT's), Nurses, and Physicians who provide equipment and personnel for emergency response standby medical care. We respond to more than 500 medical emergencies in urban and wilderness environments each year. What do we bring to You? In the city or the wilderness, fire fighting is physically demanding work. In the forest the adversary is not just the fire but fatigue, dehydration, sprains and strains, snake and insect bites, blisters, cardiac distress, and physical exhaustion working difficult terrain. When you order BLS, ALS, and Cardiac Kits from Paramedics Unlimited, you receive the equipment, drugs, and disposables specified in the contract and EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses and Medical Unit Leaders who administer care under the direct or standing orders of a doctor from our base hospital. While standing by in the base and spike camps Paramedics Unlimited personnel treat minor injuries. We also interview crew bosses to monitor the condition of the firefighters to prevent a medical crisis. Most importantly, should a life threatening situation occur, we are near by - trained, equipped, and ready to respond. Though not required by the contract, many of our team members are trained for Technical Rescue and may assist should the need arise. Our goal is to send a Medical Unit Leader Paramedic or EMT as a member of the initial response team.
