Investments in Responsiveness1. We operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year. To maintain our team, we contract to provide medical stand-by for community events, conventions, movie sets, visiting dignitaries, festivals, and sporting events. 2. We recruit world-class talent. A large percentage of the PMU team members work for the City of Phoenix Fire Department where they have developed longstanding positive relationships in an emergency response setting. The Phoenix Fire Department is recognized worldwide for excellence in fire fighting, emergency medical response, and fire safety. Our medical control and direction is provided by Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, one of the leading emergency medical facilities in the world. 3. We are deployment ready. Keeping equipment and supplies state-of-the art and ready to go is vital to our vision of service delivery. The "equipment bag tags" we developed are an effective visual system to manage and monitor our equipment, drug boxes, and the BLS, ALS, and Paramedic Kits. At a glance we can tell if the drugs are current and the equipment and supplies are complete.
4. We invest in technology. PMU utilizes quick response electronic notification technologies and systems to support rapid deployment and rotation of personnel. See also Mobile Medical Unit.
